JGOODIES BINDING
Bind domain data to Swing components
The JGoodies Binding library connects object properties to Swing user interface components. And it helps you represent the state and behavior of a presentation independently of the GUI components used in the interface. Martin Fowler describes the architectural patterns implemented by the JGoodies Binding in the additions to his book "Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture".
Main Benefits
* reduces the code necessary for object presentation,
* stream-lines the development process for data binding,
* provides advanced features for automatic update notification,
* assists you in separating the domain and presentation layers.
This is an interactive talk, through demonstration and participation. We will start with creating a new Netbeans 5.x platform application and add the JGoodies binding library to this. All participants can suggest a specific object they would like to see as an example. The JGoodies binding APIs are then demonstrated by an example form. A few of the API's features will be highlighted.
